Witness Statement and Footage Upload

You must ensure the following if you wish to report an incident:

  • Incidents must be reported within 7 days of the event
  • Footage must not be edited
  • Footage must not be deleted from your device
  • Footage must not be shared on social media
  • Footage must show between 1-2 minutes either side of the incident
  • Road traffic collisions and any other offences will need to be reported by dialling 101 or visit the Hampshire Police website
  • If the above criteria is met, you should now complete the following witness statement and submit your footage.

By fully completing the form, you will have provided enough evidence to enable the police to review the incident and take the appropriate action.

You will only be contacted again if you are required to give evidence in the event of court hearing or trial.

Some cases may proceed to a full trial at court. As such, you do need to be willing to attend court at a later date. It should be noted that this occurs in a very small proportion of cases and the majority will be resolved without any further involvement from you.

Please note, if you are unwilling to go to court it is unlikely that Hampshire Constabulary will be able to progress this matter any further.

All statements associated with an offence or prosecution will be retained in line with the police forces retention policies. If your submission is not progressed the original copy of your statement and associated files will be deleted.
